Las Vegas Grows Hotter Than Ever in the Summer

As the global trend of the climate to rise in temperature continues, the effect in the Las Vegas area is extremely noticeable, as the already high heat index continues to rise, creeping above 111°F, a dangerous level of heat exposure for many people.  In the cases of the elderly and individuals that are already suffering from health problems, these levels of extreme temperatures can be potentially harmful and even fatal.  These unbelievable temperatures are likely to cause all manner of reluctance among visitors to the Las Vegas area.  With such skyrocketing temperatures, even the hardiest of tourists might think twice about visiting such an area.  Las Vegas is, after all, completely surrounded by desert on all sides.  Considering the tendencies for automobiles to break down, the chances of being stranded in the inhospitable desert regions on the way to the world-famous Las Vegas hotels and casinos is actually somewhat higher than one might think.  Public news broadcasts and public service announcements repeatedly encourage Las Vegas residents to drink plenty of water and take breaks throughout the day to keep from overheating.  While this is all good advice, for those who are stuck out in the heat, there is no relief, regardless of how much fluids you might drink or how many breaks you might take.

The news of extreme temperatures and continuously rising heat index is not welcome by Las Vegas establishment proprietors, who depend on tourism and the irresistible allure of Las Vegas shows and Las Vegas attractions to provide much of their income in the gambling mecca in the desert.  With the intense heat and so many warnings being constantly broadcast over the television, it is impossible for tourists and visitors not to understand how unbearably hot it can get in the Las Vegas area.  With the sun baking down, anyone who is caught outside of some type of climate controlled area is in a potential hazard area, as even healthy individuals can be brought down by extreme heat and exposure to long-term heat effects.  While the architecture in Las Vegas is already designed to keep visitors indoors and out of the heat, it is almost impossible to prevent going outdoors at some point, and there are very few who look forward to such a prospect in their lives.  But continuing construction in Las Vegas is aimed towards protecting Las Vegas visitors from the blazing heat and prompting them to remain indoors as much as possible, a trend that will likely continue in the future.
