De La Hoya against Manny Pacquiao Guaranteed to be the Fight of the Year

The LV event most boxing fanatics have been itching to see is happening this week. De La Hoya will match wits against one of the sport’s existing greatest fighters, Pacquiao. This match is scheduled for Sat. December 6th in the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Without a doubt there has been many words spoken in Las Vegas, Nevada about this bout. The Golden Boy has cut his weight down to 147 lbs. to participate as a welterweight, and people say that Oscar De La Hoya might not be as physically powerful since the drop in weight. Manny has in the past boxed one time as a lightweight and wishes to fight in the welterweight division. Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao is also the current lightweight title-holder , and is considered by many authorities to be the best fighter in the world.

This is Oscar “Golden Boy” De La Hoya’s first tour back to Las Vegas for a bout since he competed against Floyd Mayweather Jr. back in May of 2007. This boxing match is no doubt a sell-out for the MGM Sin City. Vacationers to Sin City have declined in the past few months, but LV events like this one seem to have a way of bringing folks to Vegas.
