Each year since 1984 the adult movie industry has been escaping from the sweltering Hollywood, Ca. movie sets and travelling to Las Vegas, Nevada, to be awarded on a very special night for the work they have accomplished throughout the year. The Vegas Adult Awards were started to celebrate the actors, actresses, and the folks behind the cameras in the porn industry. Their goal is to honor the industry’s promise of erotic artistry and free spirit. The AVN Vegas is promoted and sponsored by Adult Video News which is based in Chatsworth, California.
The 2008 AVN Vegas was a high point for the ceremonies, since they were celebrating their 25th anniversary. The wildly popular Vivid Entertainment Group took home the most awards in 2008, where they were credited with a massive amount of awards in a range of different categories including Best Film and Best Director.
While you might suspect that the only people you would spot at this celebration are busty blondes and toned guys, you would have been way off. It is very probable to find porn stars mingling with some very famous Hollywood mainstream celebrities at the AVN Vegas ceremony. A few unlikely individuals who have been caught or even handed out awards in past events include Dustin Diamond, Christina Aguilera, Criss Angel, Carrot Top, Sean Penn, Eddie Van Halen and Dave Navarro among others. Even rap stars are involved in the adult entertainment world these days; rumor has it that Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent have been investing in adult films for a few years now.
The 2009 Las Vegas Adult Show will contain over 100 categories ranging from best all girl sex scene to best supporting actress and any other category related to erotic flicks imaginable. The awards given out to the winners are called “Woody’s” and the recipients of a Woody are selected by industry peers and other professionals and critics of the porn industry. Nominees for the Adult Show Vegas must have films available for purchase in at least 100 stores, and the movie must have been released before the 30th of September of the previous year. The 2009 AVN Vegas will be presented on the 10th of January in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
The game of poker used to be a game accessible only in Sin City Hotels or from video poker machines, but now it is more in style than ever in Sin City thanks to the internet and TV.
The famous Venetian, is now banking on this popularity with its new audience-participation show called “The Real Deal!” in its showroom located in the Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino, starting in October.
This new idea will merge comedy and game show elements to entertain its live audience. The audience will also be able to take part in the popular game of Texas Holdem’ alongside the some famous poker stars. There will be prizes for the audience including a chance to win 1$ million.
In “The Real Deal!” the audience will play with players like Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu. Around 10 professional players have already signed up for the game show about poker. The audience will be able to play along with the 90 minute game thanks to handheld, wireless, touch screen devices located on each seat.
“People who come to Las Vegas casinos want to play poker games,” Negreanu says, “but obviously they can’t play in a big game with the likes of Doyle or Phil Hellmuth. But, in this show, they actually can.” At the start of the show, six audience members will be chosen to sit at the poker table on stage with two pro poker players. Each audience member is then involved in the action by being dealt a unique set of poker cards on their devices. Everyone in the showroom is then involved in the action with big-screen monitors located on stage.
The show’s creators say that you don’t have to be a pro poker player to take part in the poker game. There are other ways to enhance your point total, that doesn’t involve poker necessarily. Betting on the suit of the next poker card or trying to guess which state a particular audience member is from, are just some of the ways to come out a big poker winner in this game.
Creators of The Real Deal are also betting on the charisma of the pro poker stars to create some exciting moments. Someone like Scotty Nguyen, the flamboyant five-time World Series of Poker winner, definitely knows about entertaining the crowd and should provide some memorable moments in this revolutionary poker game show .

The stars feasted on such specialties as Tai snapper, Kobe beef tataki , king crab tempura, rock shrimp, big-eye tuna pizza, the spicy tuna strawberry roll, and of course every type of sushi under the sun.
Paris dined on the beef tataki, ordering seconds and even thirds. Eva congratulated Chef Back while drinking non-alcoholic beverages and abstaining from the sushi. Wilmer enjoyed the delicacies of the famed chef and ordered table shots for his entourage.
The celebrities finished the evening by mingling on the hotel and casino’s terrace that overlooks the iconic lake, while the Bellagio’s fountain show was enjoyed by all. A private balcony offers outdoor veranda seating and a panoramic panorama of Lake Bellagio and its fountain and light show. But the greatest visual treat is the 25-by-13- foot bronze statue at the opening resembling the dorsal side of a Japanese amberjack.
